ICPPA has All India Registration Under Societies Act 1860
The ICPPA ® Indian Captive power Producers Association came to spontaneous existence in 2005 with CPP industries finding themselves on the wrong side of abrupt changes in the policy implementation curtailing coal supplies for many CPP. It was precursor to 11th five year plan and birth of New Coal Distribution Policy on the directives of Ho'ble Supreme Court.

ICPPA, as apex body for CPP, is pleased to support organizers for events and extend its invitation to all industry payers to participate. For Indian Industries, uninterrupted quality power from Captive Generation is one of the pre-condition for being efficient & globally competitive. Though policy framework exists for CPP; but renewed support is needed to mitigate frozen coal availability, high petro prices and discrimination by Center & State Agencies
